Yet another BTS inspired art. That's Taehyung (V), another member of the band. I borrowed my friend's IPad and drew this on Procreate. Pretty fun! (It looks simple but it really did take a lot of time)
Hopeworld is a mixtape by Jung Hoseok (J-hope) of BTS. It's an amazing solo work so this is inspired by that. My first time painting something in a long while.

If you have never been on the 99-B line in rush hour, then you are thoroughly blessed. This is just me expressing my frustration when I had to travel back and forth from the university on this same bus every day.
Sometimes it shocks me to my core how much hatred one can have towards oneself, and many times it is hard to put into words exactly how much. So here is me trying to do so.
This one came from a deepened sense of loss of a first kiss. I've never had mine but listening and reading other women's accounts made me feel that it was a loss I bore of my own.

This is a research study we carried out collectively in a group for our Research Methods class. Our hypothesis was that using computer or paper based medium for learning would effect memory recall.
I make collages in my own time. I love putting random cutouts together and finding meaning through those finished pieces. I usually try to mix and match different pieces together to see what fits best and how to frame the collage itself.
A paper I wrote as part of my Asian Studies class called contemporary gender politics in South Asia. Partition of sub-continent India, in what is now known as South Asia, is an important historical event that shaped the course of the relationship between 3 countries and impacted the lives of many people. Thus, my research paper links the historical event to the suffering of the women during the event and how it has shaped contemporary gender politics in modern South Asia.
A term paper I wrote for my art history class. We were instructed to choose one of the weekly theme topics and write a research paper on it using time/location either from the syllabus or choose our own. I did my paper on the era of Mughal Dynasty in the Indian sub-continent.
A review written for my film studies course based around the classic film of Charlie Chaplin "City Lights".
ARTS UNDERGRADUATE SOCIETY REPRESENTATIVE (Sept'19 - Mar'20)
PROMOTIONS AND FUNDRAISING VOLUNTEER (SEPT'19 - MAR'20)

A collage piece I made for a short assignment for my VISA course.
The title explains it all. The poem's words are complicated and too ambiguous, which makes it hard to understand it without the context. The confusion and ambiguity placed are deliberate to depict what a person who has severe anxiety goes through. Written from a personal place, this one tackles the intensity of being socially anxious.
A review done on the classic novel 'Jane Eyre' by Charlotte Bronte. The review is to discuss the differences that arise from changing a novel into film where directors make specific changes in the plot to suit either their audience or film standards of those times.
The research paper is evaluating media coverage done pre-elections and afterward on the topic of sanctuary cities. Media coverage has an important influence in informing us of issues and shaping our opinions on such topics. I discussed the history of this movement and evaluated the problems found in the press coverage during Trump's campaign, after the elections, and after Trump passed his executive order.
It was initially written in the format of an open letter to my 'Mind.' Using the same words, I structured it into the form of a poem for my creative writing assignment. The poem is about suffering through severe depression and having suicidal thoughts and written from personal experience.
This was written in the context of having a recent breakup and time to heal.
A poem written on selective mutism. 'Selective mutism' is a condition where one is incapable of speech in specific situations or of speaking to specific people due to high anxiety levels.
This is a short video I created on the concept of appropriation for my Visual Arts class. We were given the task of creating a video comprised entirely of content that was not our own - that we took from other videos and other sources. The project was done with the idea of critiquing on the unrealistic beauty standards that are set by society. I used Adobe Premiere to create it and used clips from different beauty ads, along with a slam poetry audio to accompany it.
