Analysis on Film Methods

A review written for my film studies course based around the classic film of Charlie Chaplin "City Lights".

City Lights (1931) is a silent romantic comedy film that was directed by the legend Charlie Chaplin. We were given a set of shots from the film and were instructed to do a shot by shot analysis. I listed down stylistic elements used like cinematography, musical elements, mise-ens-scene and other editing elements. Then went on to describe how these elements were used to represent an important scene in the film and how it fit into the whole narrative presented to the viewers.
